A year ago we had a moment of silence in memory of the victims of Paris. Did we have a moment of silence for those innocents who die everyday all over the world because of (our) war? Why not? Aren’t deaths all equal?
Paris, 11/13/2015. Dealing with numbers is useless. Numbers can give us the idea of what happened, but with numbers we remain on the surface and we don’t go beyond news. Numbers represent people and, in a way or in another, they also hide them. As a consequence of this, those people sink into oblivion. To improve teachers quality is to improve many people’s life. In spite of this, school quality is not sufficient, because also parents have the means to improve their children’s future.
School holds the whip hand: it has the possibility to change and improve our future. It is the most important institution. It educates and shapes people and for this reason it is fundamental to give school more quality. To improve school and teachers’ training quality means to improve many people’s life. In fact teaching is a profession which acts as the foundation of the society. If it’s true that our behaviour and our personality are influenced by our family environment (above all during our first five years of life, as many experts affirm), it’s also true that our attitude is transformed – improved or worsened – by school education.
